Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
Getting paid after the death of the owner
We have a medical billing company in florida.
one of our providers passed away last month.
his business owed us over $13,000.00 prior to his passing.
now his lawyer is telling me that we have to wait for the IRS to get paid first and there might not be enough to cover our balance.
what are our options?
Thank you very much for your time.

If the individual was the company, then you need to file a clkaim in the estate. If it was a corporation, you can bring a claim in county court.
