Legal Question in Business Law in Florida

pay discrepency

I have worked at my company for over 2 years as a diligent hard worker. A female coworker was bought in last year her only qualification being that she knew the CEO. She was employed at a higher salary than myself. I have been out off numerous times by persons in HR saying that they were working on the problem. As I have recently found myself to be pregnant for the first time at 43 I am desperately in need of the raise.

Please give me some advice.

Sincere Thanks

Re: pay discrepency

Nothing you mentioned gives rise to any legal cause

of action. Employers can hire whoever they want

and pay whatever they want as long as they

do not discriminate on the basis of sex, age,

religion, nationality, handicap, etc.
