Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
Not pleased with Dish Network
We had Brighthouse Cable for almost 10 years..The price keeps being raised...we shopped around and desided on Dish
Network, because they said we would be gitting the same service and channels as we had on Brighthouse. The Brighthouse service package included (telephone service, computer service, and cable TV) all in one..
Dish promised us nothing would change , but we are now told we have to change over to AT&T for computer and telephone service...we will be lousing AOL which we have had for 10 years...We now have Dish Network, lemitting the service we get for TV, computer, and phone..
We are very unhappy with Dish Network and want go back to Brighthouse...Dish tells us we have to pay them $400.00 if we drop them ...It was my understanding that the Federal Law
is that we have 90 days to change
our mind (especilly if we fill we were lied to about what we should be gitting)...

Re: Not pleased with Dish Network
They "said", "promised", and "told." Did you read your contract? Or for that matter, did you take a look at the Dish Network website?
The Dish Network website offers the following information:
* Special Cable Packages: 6 month offer deals require signing a 24 month contract. If service is cancelled prior to the end of 24 months, the cancellation fee will be the lesser of $300 or $12.50 per cancelled month.
* To obtain phone and internet service: Dish Network lists their AFFILIATED PROVIDERS of these services, which includes AT&T (no mention of AOL anywhere).
I do not know of any Federal Law which gives you 3 MONTHS to change your mind about a cable service contract. I looked around and do not find it.
The bottom line is READ YOUR CONTRACT.
