Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
Policy on providing replacement parts to customer.
I work for a Dental Parts manufacturer. We sell a small machine designed to repair handpieces. Every 3 years we've developed a new version of the press and stop making the older models.
My question is this: Do we legally have to continue to manufacture replacement parts for those old machines in the instance that one of our clients needs something replaced on their older model? Is there a set time duration in which we legally have to have them available? Are we legally bound to repair any machine that needs a replacement part?
I deal mainly with International clients. How does this apply overseas?

Ask what warranties and guaranties went along with the sale. Too, consider the effect your policy will have upon future sales.

It sounds like your question are move in the way of what warranties your company has provided as part of the sales of this equipment. If the warranty is lifetime, then yes. If not, then no. It also depends on the warranties.
