Property leins

I am a sole proprieter of a small lawn mowing business and I have a customer who owes me money and doesn't want to pay me.How do I go about putting a lein on his property so when or if he tries to sell it he would have to settle his lein before he would be able to sell ???

In order to get a lien, you would have to file suit against the party in the appropriate court. If a judgment is obtained, you can then record it against the person(s) which might affect the title to his or her property.

If it is their homestead then they may be able to sell the property regardless of the lien. I would suggest that you consult an attorney to review your matter and advise you on the best course of action.
