Are Purse Parties Illegal? Replica Handbags?

I was thinking about starting a replica handbag business by doing purse parties. I'm getting conflicting information as to whether this is illegal to do so or not. Is it illegal to sell replica handbags/wallets/jewelry/sunglasses if I clearly state that they are replicas? I certainly will not be charging authentic prices...I just need to know before I pursue this further. Please help clear this up. I don't want to do this if it is illegal, obviously. I'm only asking because I'm getting stories from both sides...need an answer from someone who knows for sure. Thanks so much for the help!

Saying that it isn't Gucci doesn't allow you to use a Gucci design without permission from Gucci. You would have to get permission to use their designs; so you're probably better off coming up with your own designs.
