Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
Hello, I recently signed a Lease Agreement on October 27, 2013 for a home to rent for a year and I received a copy of our Lease to move in on the First of November through October 30, 2014 I gave him $700 in a Amscot money order and because it was on a Sunday that we signed the Lease we couldn't take out the whole $1300 because Banks are closed on Sundays we agreed that we'll give him a check for $600 and he was ok with that. Monday morning I asked him if it was ok for him to deposit the check or hold it till the first of November he said that, that was ok. So yesterday I receive a call from the landlord saying he can not rent to us and he wants us to sign a paper I believe to cancel the Lease but were not entitled to our money back unless we pay him $500 in cash before the first of November. What should I do?
