Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
release of employees information
News media makes a request of every city employees salary and overtime for 2007.
Question: Can a city government employer release the salary and overtime information for individual employees without the employees consent? Example: John Doe salary was $80,000.00 and he made $40,000.00 in overtime. Especially if that employee is in law enforcement.

Re: release of employees information
Typically all public service employees' salary information is open to the public, it does not matter what their job title is, so long as personal information such as SS Numbers etc aren't disclosed.
