Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
S corporation filing deadline??
I started a new job as an independent contractor in May 2002 and I am being paid on a 1099. I have not yet paid any estimated taxes yet this year. Is it too late to incorporate, file as an S corp. and get the S corp. tax status for the 2002 tax year?

Re: S corporation filing deadline??
You have 75 days after the corporation begins business to elect Subchapter "S" status. However, there is a revenue ruling that may allow you to seek approval of such election after the 75 days has expired.
Good luck.
