Do you have to sell an item even if you have signed a purchase agreement but have not received any earnest money down and the buyer changes the agreed price that you wrote on the document and signed and sent to him electronically?

Any attorney will say if a deposit was required and not paid, a contract was not formed. The buyer changing the price is most likely a counter-offer that you can accept or reject. Consult with an attorney in your area for specifics.
