Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
Simple Contract Dispute
I have placed a $100 deposit on a puppy in April. I have now changed my mind and asked for my deposit back. The breeder still has the pup who is not ready to go home yet till mid-July. He will not refund the deposit. He says by law he doesn't have to, but will hold the $$ for another litter in the future if I so desire. I want the deposit back. What can I do. No contract was signed for the deal, just a written business card with the price on the back. Am I 'barking' up a tree in trying to get my $100 back??

Re: Simple Contract Dispute
It depends on your agreement. This is why oral agreements are risky. He says the agreement was that the deposit was not refundable and you say that it was.
