Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
Slander Per Se
I am the plaintiff in a breach of contract case. During the deposition of the defendants CEO, he lost his cool and accused me of being a ''fraud'', a ''deadbeat'' and a ''scam artist''. All of the claims are completely unfounded. Can I file a claim for Slander Per Se? I understand that as long as even one other party heard it, I have been slandered pro se. There were numerous others in the deposition who heard this accusation.

Statements during litigation are protected. You cannot sue based upon your description. It is also unlikely that you have suffered any damage whatsoever, so even if you could sue, you have not been harmed.
