Legal Question in Business Law in Florida

Slip and fall liability

I own a small janitorial company that I purchased from someone in 2006. Am I responsible in any way for a slip and fall that occurred prior to my ownership (it happened in 2005). Nothing has changed in regards to the business (business name, office location, etc.) except for the change in ownership.

Re: Slip and fall liability

If you purchased the business by purchasing the stock for the corporation, then you (the company) would still be liable. If you just pruchased the assets, then you would not. It may turn on the specific documents that were used for the transaction.
