Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
My son has a custom design/print business and recently a competitor accused him of copying their design on social media where customers of both companies interact and then purchased a web address with my sons company name then directed that website to their own. My questions are is there anything to protect my sons business from this kind of harassment and how would someone protect their designs from being copied? thank you.

Did he copyright the design? If not, did he do a trademark search on the design? Unless he copyrighted the design, then he has no legal claim. If he copyrighed it, then he can request they or anyone else to stop using it. If they don't, then he has legal recourse. If he needs help with trademarking his design or name, have him call my office.
