starting a food pantry within a for profit company
I work for a for profit company that provides in home care for the elderly and disabled. We are interested in starting a food pantry to help our clients in emergency situations. Often we arrive a clients home after they have returned home from a lengthy hospital stay and discover that they have no food, too often this is after all local food pantries are closed or the client is homebound and has no way to get food. Our goal is to have a supply of food on hand in our office for these situations, what are the regulations for this?

You should retain an attorney go through the relevant requirements with you; this is not a do it yourself thing. Or you could work with a caterer that will give your client's discounts. They may have leftover meals that freeze well.
