Legal Question in Business Law in Florida

I am looking into starting my own photography business. I will have no employees, no start up costs (I have everything I need) and I need to know what I need to do, if anything, legally. I want to run the business out of my home. Do I need a seperate office or will a desk in my Family Room do? All photoshoots will be done on-location. What can I use as a write off? My car? My mortgage? Any and all things you can think of that is related, I would love some advice. Thank you, Jen.

I would suggest you go to your local public library and pick up a book on how to start a small business. You may also find useful information at the U.S. Small business administration's website and the IRS. If you find you want or need to create a formal business structure, you can find information at the Florida Division of Corporations (sunbiz.org). Contact an attorney for specific legal advice or for help drafting enforceable contracts. Best of luck to you!
