Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
stopped payment on deposit check after firm commitment
After spending over 4 hours helping client pick stained glass/paint for a custom project she wanted done,by us, and designing a layout pattern to use in constructing,AND picking up the glass she wanted at our supplier, which she was with my wife as she ordered it, she stopped payment the next day. She had signed a sales slip acknowdleging the deposit was non refundable, as it helps cover my time working with her and the cost of the materials.
Sorry for the run on sent. but do I have a good chance in small claims if I file againist her for my losses. I can't return the glass, and it is a type we don't stock as it dosen't sell well. She also has my working pattern(which she wasn't supposed to take) and wasted 4 and half hours of our time.

Yes you should have a good case; you incurred a cost in time and money in reliance on the contract to do the project.
