Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
Tax Exempt Number
We had a small business which we incoporated, including a tax exempt number. We were forced to dissolve the the corporation because of medical reasons. We kept the tax exempt number current. Is it legal to use the tax exempt# for ordering wholesale supplies to be used for resale, without being incorporated?
Does the tax exempt # belong to the company, or the person owning the company?
Thank You for your help.

Re: Tax Exempt Number
The purpose of the resale tax number is to allow for the purchase of goods, for resale, free of a sales tax. The corporation, which is now dissolved was the holder of the certificate. It would be improper for a different entity to use that number. If you wish to speak further, call me at 305 940 8080
