Use of the term ''president'' by sole proprietor

Is it legal for a sole proprietor of a business to give themselves the title ''president'' or is that title only allowed if the business is incorporated?

Re: Use of the term ''president'' by sole proprietor

There's no law that I know of that prohibits a sole proprietor from giving himself or herself the title of "President." In fact, the owner of the business can declare that his/her title is "Captain of the Ship", "Chief Executive Honcho", "The Big Cheeze", etc. and I don't think the sole proprietor police will pursue the business owner. We who reside in the United States still live in a relatively free society. Seek the advice of an attorney and good luck.
