Legal Question in Business Law in Florida

Transfer of commercial lease

I sold my business and the management company now wants me to continue to personally guarantee the lease, this despite the lease in question being transfered twice previously. What legal forum do i have to challange their request?

Probably not. This is governed by the terms of the lease. Most commerical leases will allow the right to sublet or assign the lease, however, the original tenant remains responsible not only for the original term of the lease but for subsequent renewals. Upon the sale of a client's business, I generally negotiate with a landlord for a new lease to release my client(s) from any future liability.

There is no such form. Your lease will control your requirements.
