Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
unpaid debt
I have a customer who owes me 25,000. I have all the documentation. He has stated he will file bankrupsy if sued. He has on occasion paid by credit card. I do have the CC #. Can I charge it for the debt?

Re: unpaid debt
If you are not authorized to charge it for this transaction, then no. I would ask him if you could automatically bill it for a small percentage each month (GET IT IN WRITING, or preferably, have a lawyer draft up a note or settlement). As for the bankruptcy threat, go ahead and call him on it. You have nothing to lose either way. I get bankruptcy threats all the time. They are only followed through a portion of the time.
