unused vacation time and commissions

I had a employee that left on bad terms am I bound to pay this person their vacation time that was unused? Second, unpaid commissions for a person who works mostly from a base pay am I obligated to pay this perosn commissions for sales that were processed and paid after their departure? Tha nks from a small business owner.

If the vacation time was earned, then it must be paid. If it was not yet earned (i.e. two weeks AFTER one year but the year has not been completed) then you do not have to pay. All earned commissions must be paid, even if the deal had not yet closed and was still transpiring.
