Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
I was wondering what kind of business license I would need to work in multiple states? I've been looking at the LLC, but i'm not sure if it can be used in multiple states.

A business license is different from a business structure. The type of legal structure you choose for your business (sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation or LLC) does not affect your ability to work in different states. In Florida, there are certain types of services that require a license from the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation. Each state will have their own licensing requirements that you will need to check. You can check the Florida list at: http://www.myfloridalicense.com/dbpr/services.html. You may also need to register your business name, apply for permits, and obtain a tax registration certificate, a.k.a. business tax license from your city and/or county. There is useful information available at the U.S. Small Business Administration's website. Contact an attorney for further assistance in setting up your new business. Regards,
