Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
I have worked for a restraunt who originally told me I would be hired as a salary manager, so clocking in and out wasn't necessary. Then, I was told I would be making 11.75/hr and would have to start clocking in. Well, I was a salaried manager at Starbucks for ten years so it took some getting used to. The general manager, however, knew that my written schedule was followed and I did put in the hours. Right now, the owner owes me two paycheck (we get paid every week), and this is not the first time. In addition, in our back office I have a list of about twenty people or so that he owes money to. What are my rights and what should be my next plan of action?

Any attorney will say you have a right to get paid. You need to contact your state's employment or labor department and report what's happened. They will investigate the matter and take action, if necessary. You can also consult with an attorney in your area for specifics.
