Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
I was working for a pool company, that had all workers listed as subcontractors, even the secretary. I have been looking around online and see that it is borderline illegal. I have since quit. Along with that information I have requested my final commission check be mailed to me, they mailed me back : "we advise you to set up an appointment to discuss it further." In regards to that, I feel it will only end badly, as they are ill mannered. Do I have any options, regarding my final commission pay, or a possible case concerning the subcontracting setup.
Thanks in advance!

Any attorney will advise you that one possible step is contacting your state's employment department. These agencies, including the IRS, are very interested in looking into subcontractor hiring practices and collecting unpaid employment taxes from the employer - your pool company. Consult with a good business attorney in your area for specific advice.
