Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Florida

I am 23 year old male, I am going threw a child support case with my wife. I am 3,500 dollors in dept and i am looking at jail time if i don't pay in 14 days. I heard that there was a contitutional amendment that stated that no man, woman, nor child shall be imprisioned per a dept owed. I was wanting to know two thing. One is this true, and two how can i use this to stay out of jail so that i can find a job in this failing economy and make my payments when i am more able to do so. I live in the state of Florida and i really don't know the laws as well as i should, Could you please give me any, and all advice that you are able to. Thank you for your time.
