Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Florida
How can you help my 90-year old mom whose landlord wants to evict her?
She pays her rent on time every month but the owner of the mobile home park, mom owns the mobile home but not the land, he wants to evict her and myself because he says we are cubans and need to go to Hialeah to live and that he does not want blacks nor hispanics in the park.
Please help us. We have not money for legal assistance.
Mom is 90 years old and she just had a colostomy at Mount Sinai Hospital in Miami Beach where we both spent a whole month there.
We are very much in fear of this man whose only purpose in life it seems to be harrassing people and stealing all their belongings from their front porch.
Thank you,
Maria Martinez

I am sorry to hear about this Maria and Adria. If your mom has a lease agreement, the landlord cannot do this. Try to contact a legal aid clinic in your area that helps low income people.
