assault and battery

my friend and I were drinking at a restaurant without the waiter checking our ID (I am 20yrs old). we finished drinking and paid our bill and got up to leave but the manager came up and wanted to check our ID. When I told him that I didn't have an ID, the manager told us to leave, so we left (with few inappropriate verbal exchange). Half way out the door I was angery so I went back into the manager and argue that I didn't like what he said to me than the manager attacked me with six of thier workers. I didn't have any broken bones but some bruises. I called the police but when they arrived and heard the story, the officers refuse to listen to our opinion and gave traspassing warnings and blew us off. I know I am not old enough to drink but I don't think the manager has the right to attack me. Do I have any chance to press charges?

You may have been assaulted and you may have legal rights as to that, but you were also wrong in drinking when you knew you were not legally authorized to do so. How much money would a jury give you under these circumstances?

I'd chalk it up to experience.
