I want to cancel a cruise that is paid for

I have acruise booked for the caribbean i leave 030803 the cruise is paid for in full and i do have cancellation ins . My wife is petrified to travel because of the current terrorist alert. To the point she is ill over the while situation in spite of the fact that i do have insur for illness .The cruise line claims that any mental distress is not covered. Please advise if this can be true. Iid u

The simple solution to this dilemma is to have your family physician write a letter to the effect that it would be medically contraindicated to have your wife travel on those dates. Surely a doctor could diagnose a "stress disorder" of some type that would suffice to kick in and cover the insurance.

Contact your physician and get him to write a letter on his letterhead, and have that sent to the cruise line and its insurer. This should solve your problem as once a condition is medically diagnosed it is no longer "mental distress" but a true disease condition and I would think (without seeing the actual policy) that the policy would be required to cover it.
