Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Florida

Civil Rights Violation?

My question is this ?

My family was victimized by several South Florida criminals. Police in several areas from local Sheriffs to State police afforded us no help as law enforcement agencies are supposed to.

Recently a friend took our case to a Miami F.B.I agant to look it over. After reviewing the case the F.B.I agent said '' it looks like these peoples civil right were taken from them ''

As far as civil rights go if police dont afford victims protection or help under the law does this violats your civil rights?

also if you have florida law info that explains this we would appreciate this also.

Re: Civil Rights Violation?

There are not enough facts to give you much guidance. The police have some great latitude about what they investigate and what they do. The state has the right to decline to prosecute anything they want to. You may have a claim againt those who victimized you -- but it depends on what you mean when you say that you were "victimized."
