corporation is asking for fingerprints

the corporation i work for has an account with the irs. the corporation and the irs are demanding background checks and credit checks on me; i have no problem with that, but they are also demanding fingerprints. i do not wish to give figerprints to the government. do i have any recourse?

You have to give the fingerprints, if you want to continue working for a company that has access to such extensive government information.

If you really think it's obtrusive and unnecessary, you'll have to seek legal recourse to show why you should be allowed to keep your job.

As you know, it looks pretty suspicious that you're willing to submit to all sorts of credit and background checks, but not willing to give your fingerprints (which is the only way to really prove you are who you say you are).

Every lawyer in the country has to give fingerprints just to practice law (we're officers of the court), so you're in good company!
