Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Florida

has D.C.F. stacked their deck?

a department of children and families officer handed my wife and i a ''voluntary protective services agreement'' document with the ''conditions of supervision'' area left blank, to be filled in two weeks from now when that officer meets with the attorney general. we were told that not signing would lead to the loss of our 3-month old baby into d.c.f. custody, and that only by signing were we showing our cooperation. since d.c.f. only has issue with my wife's past and not mine, did i do the wrong thing, and is this legal?!?

It is not illegal, but it does not seem to be in your best interests. You definitely need legal representation. Contact the FL Bar Association. They have a list of lawyers who take cases such as yours on a reduced fee basis. Also contact the Legal Services Corporation. They provide legal representation to those who qualify. Don't attempt to deal with DCF yourselves - they know what to do, you don't. Seek competent legal representation at once - you have substantial interests at stake.
