Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Florida

False Imprisonment

I was arrested for a felony trafficking charge. The CI was a seven time felon who had caught another charge while working with the police. I was not guilty of this crime and was arrested solely on the CI's word that I sold him the drugs. I did not have the money to hire a proper attorney or bail myself out so I spent 8 months in jail. I lost my job, my apartment, everything that I owned. After 6 months in jail I went to trial and it was declared a mistrial because the CI admitted on the stand that he was involved in criminal activity while working with police, also the judge would not allow the public attorney to confide to the jury the CI's criminal past I waited two months longer for my next trial and the DA was going to continue it again for months later. I was put on anti depressants while imprisoned, lost 25 pounds, and developed a rash that has scarred me permanently. I plead no contest to a misdemeanor because I could not wait any longer for another trial. Neither the police nor the DA had any evidence against me, my question is: Can I sue for false arrest and imprisonment and mental distress even though I plead no contest to the misdemeanor?
