Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Florida
Hello I am inquiring for my 20 year old daughter. She had signed a leas for an apartment 7/22/2009 she however was baker acted on in August and was in the mental ward for 7 days. The day she got out we went to the apartment complex and explained that per the doctor she was medically unstable to live on her own and would have to break her lease. The apartment complex is now billing her $2165.00 and I was wondering if there is anything we can do to get this off.

If she was competent to sign the lease, then she owes the rent.
