Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Florida

Is it legal in my area to go dumpster diving? I live in St. Pete Fl. In Pinellas County.

It depends. Generally items in garbage dumpsters are abandoned property so it isn't theft, but the dumpsters could be on private property and so there could still be trespassing charges.
