Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Florida

On-the-job discrimination against Americans: Construction

I have searched for a similar situation, but can not find it. I am wondering what my next course of action would be. I was hired for a large commercial roofing company in Tampa, FL. I have not completed my 90 days training period, I am half way through. I am on a team of about 10. There are 3 Americans on the crew and the rest are hispanic. I have not learned anything because I do not speak spanish and the crew leader refuses to speak the directions in English, except of course when his boss is around. The crew leader treats us three all generally nasty and we have noticed that he puts us on all of the disgusting or nasty jobs. The leader seams to be a loose cannon because he uses unsafe means to improvise and recently caused the building we were working on to catch fire inside the walls. I am exposed to chemicals everyday and I can not understand what they are because I can not speak spanish. I do not want to appear paranoid, but at the end of the day it feels that my crew resents me on account that I am American and do not speak Spanish. I have a camera phone so I have videos of the fire and the propane tank the leader used that created the fire. I have photos also. Do youthink I should contact a lawyer or the boss

You need to report this guy to management right away. Make sure you do it in writing. If you are retaliated against for reporting him, you may have a Florida whistleblower claim. Also, you may want to call OSHA regarding the chemical issues.
