release of complete medical files or just pertinent chapters?
i am involved in a lawsuit. the other
side wants my entire mental health
records. i want to only release the
records that pertain to the incident
regarding the lawsuit. can't i protect
my privacy? can my lawyer step in?

Yes your lawyer should step in and determine whether a motion for protective order should be files. There is a lot of case law concerning disclosure of mental health records and the judge very well may prohibit or limit it depending upon the facts of your case.
