Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Florida

Slander?

One of my brother's friends came to our home after awhile me and my neice and my roommate went to the guest house to watch a movie with a friend that was going to come over. My brother's friend then drinking left our home and called the police he had his girlfriend pretend to be my neice and told the police that she was inside my house and in danger. The police came out and swarmed my house to find nothing wrong. When they called back my brother's friend he then told them that they boy that came over was my ''trick'' and that I was going to have sex with him. Both him and my neice are 14 years old. I have worked with the police and they are all my friends not to mention my neighbor is a police officer, I have since left the state due to it. Can I file a lawsuit against them for the false call ? is that a form of slander?

Re: Slander?

The false charge is a crime that the state can pursue. While you were slandered, you had no damage. The police did not believe it and you were not arrested
