Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Florida

Stolen Dog

My dog was stolen last August. She is a pure breed and has a microchip. I have spent thousands of dollars trying to find her. I got a lead about two months ago, a women that I have contact information for and have spoken with. Her uncle was given a a dog, same breed and sex, at the time mine went missing. She has confirmed with me that her uncle refuses to take the dog to a vet to have checked for a microchip because they believe the dog is stolen and have grown attached to her. That they do not want to give her back. Do I have legal standing to make the lady that I have contact information for to turn over her uncles information?

Contact the police to report the information you have about the stolen property. They should follow up on it.
