Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Florida
stress,emotional damages - e verbal agreement
Help - I met a man and dated him for 61/2 months - when the relationship progressed he agreed more than once that we were exclusive and slept with no one else - thus monogamous. This was also one of the things I made agreed upon before we ever slept together. Last month while he was out of town he asked me to stay in his house while a trim carpenter worked. It was 4 hours longer then was annticipated and I went on the computer to check my mail - his e-mail was opened and he hires prostitutes almost daily. I have had to be tested and am told by my doctor it will be testing every 6 months for a year as HIV can take up to 10 months to surface. Needless to say I am under extreme emotional distress after finding this out and the stress of waiting a year for test results. To make matters worse he has figured out that I know his ''double-life and have e-mails to prove it and has threatened me on voice mail messages and e-mails. Do I have any legal rights - I am having a hard time coping with everything and have had to be put on meds - It doesn't seem fair becuase it was a verbal agreement between us and he knew what his other lifestyle was and put me in danger intentionally. I don't know if this is a civil matter or what it falls under

Re: stress,emotional damages - e verbal agreement
There are cases where someone they knew they had contractable disease and gave it to another and recovered damages. You have indicated that thus far you have not contracted anything due to the indescetions of the man. I hope that remains the case.
As you are aware you can sue for anything. The issue would be recovery ability and damages.
