Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Florida
Trade gone bad
I made a trade with someone in person at my house in front of 3 people to witness the transaction..i traded all of my lawn business, for a motorcyle, the guy seemed very nice and trustworthy at the time, and told me he didnt have the title to the motorcycle with him, but he will have it for me within a month..it has been 4 months now, and he just started talking to me again after endless emails..he said he is filing for bankruptcy and the bank is going to want his motorcycle back, and he has already sold the lawn equipment..is there anything i can do?

Re: Trade gone bad
Assuming "traded all my lawn business" means that you gave something of value in return for a otorcyle and the other party did not perform then you may have groujnds for a lawsuit. There are many considerations in a situation such as yours; is it the type of an agreement that the law says must be in writing; do you have the basis to claim an oral contract; did you actually take possession of the motorcyle and did you actually give the other party something of value and if so, how much value? My advice -- consult with an attorney.
