Legal Question in Technology Law in Florida
Domain names
I have purchased an adult website from a company who claims I own it. As part of the contract they pay for the domain registration for a year. Their site states that the domain is registered to the buyer. I just found out it is registered to them. My question is could this be solely because they are paying for it, then after the year of free registration, they turn it over to me? Or is this possibly a way for them to legally own it, and keep me liable since all other programs such as hosting and billing processors are in my name. I don't want to involve an attorney or ruin our business relationship if the domain has to be in their name while they pay for it.

Re: Domain names
The registrant of the domain will be considered as the site's owner until you take steps to protect your ownership. Contact me if you want to know more.
