Legal Question in Technology Law in Florida

harassment

There is an individual who has been harassing me for about a year. He does so by way of email and phone calls; however the emails he sends are not addressed from him. He creates accounts from different sites. He calls me from Yahoo messenger and changes the number to read 77777777. Recently, he sent an email to his ex-girlfriend as if it were from me, slandering me, her and her new boyfriend. I am trying to press charges against him but I am unable to get the proof I need. I made a public info request through the ex girlfriends job (she works for local gov't) and i was told that I could get the emails but not the IP address. I would like to know, why is the IP address not public information and the email is? I can not get any help from law enforcement or the places where he sends these emails. Please help!

Re: harassment

Get an attorney to seek a court order that this person not take any of these actions and then when you can prove that they have you can ask a judge to make them pay you and even possibly put them in jail for some time period for violating the court's order.
