Internet linking question

Am I liable if I provide indirect links to files, that are not hosted on my site, that may be in violation of copyright laws? I ask in case someone names a file something but it actually contains something such as a movie.

Providing liks should not be a problem as you describe it. To be sure, a lawyer would need the complete details of the site and what was linked to it.
