asking for money

hi, i am disabled, and my family and i are having finical problems. they are 5 of us. my question is: can i ask for gifts of money over the internet or have a web site, to help us.

other than the fact of being embarrassed, is it aginst the law? please respond asap, we are overwhelmed with bills and struggling to make ends meet. i am very embarrassed to ask this , however i would be more embarrassed if we were living on the street.

Outside the scope of what can be answered in a simple email. Each state may have a law regulating solitication + federal laws due to abuses.
