Legal Question in Technology Law in Florida

Website cracked and information leaked.

I own and run a website that has a private forum. In order for users to become members they must register and I must personally allow them to be able to access the forums. There was private information and topics discussed in the forums pertaining to a certain local business. Private information from my website has now been obtained by that local business and the owner of the business is now using that information against the members of my forum. One of the employees from said business has admitted to being the one who 'cracked' my private forums and gained access to it without my consent. There was also claim of hard copies being made of the information within the private forum. With proper logs of ip's addresses, along with a verbal and written admission to accessing private information and databases by said employee, would I have anything to work with as far as legal action?

Yes you can report the crimes and sue for civil damages. It will help if you have good legal copy on your site.
