19 year old & 17 year old

Is it ok for a 19 year old male and a 17 year old girl to date? Is there any chance of the guy going to jail?

It is fine to date.

Having sex with her is a different question (and a differet answer).

It depends on what was in the e-mails, but probably not. They do not want you to contact them, though, so I would not. Doing so unnecessarily intrudes upon their marriage.
