Legal Question in Constitutional Law in Florida
Alimony Florida
Does alimony equals forced servitude?
How can a state have a law that forces someone to work and pay someone else without getting anything in return? Is it not a clear violation of the XIII amendment?

Re: Alimony Florida
No, although you might feel like it is. I think the state would say that you are paying for past benefits. There are states that don't award alimony; you chose to live in FL.
