If I wore a pro-second amendment shirt to school with a gun on it, can the school make me take it off or does my 1st amendment take place

Generally, a private school could bar such a shirt. The First Amendment would not control there, but there might be other limits on the school's authority.
Public schools have less leeway than private schools, but they do have some. I would need more details (about the shirt, the circumstances, the reasons for the decision, the school's existing policies, etc.) before I could offer an opinion.
