Legal Question in Construction Law in Florida
canceling a check
I canceled a check I gave a guy I knew who was going to install a big T.V. and surround sound system. The T.V. was crooked and the electrical cords were visible when they weren't supposed to be. He never installed the surround sound. He never answered my calls after he never returned to straighten the T.V., relocate the wires and install the sound system, so I hired another company which did the work instead, and canceled his check.
Now he has a construction lien on my house. What do I do?

Re: canceling a check
You will need to contest the lien and explain it to the judge.
